יז וְלֹא יַרְבֶּה-לּוֹ נָשִׁים, וְלֹא יָסוּר לְבָבוֹ;

To whom is this פרשה directed? What message is directed to this person? Why does this person in particular need to hear this message?

There aren't too many kings around these days but we can still apply the פרשת המלך today. Who (which type(s) of people or groups) needs to hear this פרשה today and what lessons do they need to take from it?

After trying to understand what this פרשה meant for the מלך and what it can mean to people today: Now what does it say to me? What lesson should I take from this פרשה?

  • This is the place to raise some questions that make sure the teacher tests the limmud on themselves or others
  • Could be a general question like - which part of the limmud resonated most for you? Which question was the hardest for you to answer?
  • Or questions anticipating students’ responses- What do you think students will say for X or Y? To what extent are you open to being surprised?
